The Royal New Zealand RSA (RNZRSA) does not hold military service records and cannot provide or verify information about an individual’s service.

If you are looking for urgent confirmation of service details for the funeral of a loved one, your funeral director will be able to access this information directly from the New Zealand Defence Force for you. 

World War One Service Records

Many First World War service records have been digitised and can be searched online through Archives New Zealand.

Post World War One Service Records

Requests for records relating to service after the First World War should be directed to the New Zealand Defence Force’s Personnel Archives and Medals team, which can provide information about accessing service records and medal entitlements.

Records Relating to Overseas Military Service

The RNZRSA has no ability to access records relating to foreign military service. You will need to contact the defence forces of the country you or your loved one has served in for how to access their service records.
