What are the political parties offering veterans?
Ahead of the 2026 General Election, the Royal New Zealand RSA asked New Zealand’s political parties the same set of questions about the issues that matter to veterans and their whānau.
We asked about things like the Veterans’ Support Act, Veterans’ Affairs, health and mental health, transition from service, support for families and whānau, and what each party sees as its top priority for veterans. You can find a copy of the letter sent to each party at the bottom of this page.
Our role in this is simple.
The RNZRSA is not endorsing or ranking political parties, and we are not commenting on the responses we received. We asked the questions, and we are publishing the answers so veterans, their whānau and our supporters can see for themselves where each party stands.
Where a party did not respond, we have noted that too.
