Health & Wellbeing

We know that life isn't always easy and it can be difficult to know where to look for help.

That's why our support advisors are out in the community ready to support those most in need.

We are not the emergency services, but if you find yourself struggling, the RSA can help you get back on your feet.

We understand that joining the military means sacrifice. Family and relationships can suffer, and the demands of service can put significant pressures on both the service person and their whānau.

Leaving the military can also be a significantly stressful time. It can be hard to work out where you fit, and how you can continue to contribute. We have Veteran Employment Advisors trained and ready to help right now.

We believe everyone who has served should be able to get support when they need it.

If you're hungry, find yourself without a place to stay, or feel you have nowhere else to turn, our support advisors can be there for you.

Whatever your circumstances, or how you came to be in need, the RSA is here to help. We provide a safe channel, without any judgement, so all New Zealand's veterans of military service can access whatever support they need. Family members of those who have served are also able to access our support services.

We know everyone and every situation is different and there is no one-size solution. That's why our support advisors work with you to find out what you need and come up with a plan that gets you and your family back on your feet. This could be accessing support from within the RSA or connecting you with another organisation who can help.

You can contact our District Support Managers to start the conversation.

Other organisations you can reach out to include:
