Not your ordinary war book. This work is primarily a collection of the
drawings and sketches of Raymond Common who served in the Middle East
from 1940 – until he was killed in action at Sidi Rezegh on 23 November
1941. He won his Military Medal in Greece.
This collection was recently rediscovered by the family amongst his effects,
and has been compiled and printed. It gives the reader a very good “picture”
of everyday soldiering in those early years of the WWII battles in the
Middle East
