A personal account of Frank Holmes who was an RNZAF pilot in the South
West Pacific during WWII. Flying Avenger dive bombers, and later Corsair

faced by the Air Force squadrons during the Pacific War. The camaraderie
between the aircrews, ground crews and our allies in this theatre of war
are brought out in the text.
Post-war, Frank had a distinguished career in academia, business and
as an advisor to successive governments. He was knighted for his services
to education and economics in 1975.
