The life-story of the author’s father, Edward Gilbert Norman, who
saw service in the NZ Army during WWI at Gallopoli and Western France.
For actions in France Edward was awarded the Military Cross and was Mentioned
in Dispatches. Between the wars Edward was a senior represntative in New
Zealand for the Borthwick’s meat processing company. During WWII,
he was sent to Argentine to oversee the purchase of meat for the British
Forces.
A full account of one soldiers harrowing experiences in WWI, and life
in New Zealand during the early part of the 20th Century.
