A pocket sized book containing facts and figures on warfare through the ages. The author has drawn on a wide range of reference material, although the result is heavily oriented towards the endeavours of the United States and the United Kingdom. There is no particular logical flow to the text and with no index, the reader must search through to discover new facts.

It was disappointing to see under the entry of the world’s Special Forces, that while the Australian SAS is and entry, New Zealand does not appear to have such a force!

Overall, a book that could have been better researched and presented.
