100,000 New Zealanders lined the streets of Wellington to pay their final respects to the Unknown Warrior on 11 November on a day the nation remembered those who will never return.

Badge in Gold for Unknown Warrior

The RNZRSA awarded the Unknown Warrior with its most prestigious award—the Badge in Gold—in remembrance of all those New Zealand servicemen and women who never returned to their homeland.
