Poppy Day Appeal Launched

In a small but moving ceremony at the National War Memorial on 16 April 2004, Governor-General Dame Silvia Cartwright launched the national poppy appeal. Special guests for this service were the parent of Private Leonard Manning who was killed in action in East Timor.
