To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the World War I Armistice, Auckland
War Memorial Museum presents In Memory, a special exhibition. The
three-screen film installation by film maker Peter Kirby traces the war
years from its outbreak in 1914 through to the Armistice, and includes
personal reflections from historians and notable New Zealanders.

''The Effects of the Great War on a Small Town' Dr Graham Hucker (Senior
Lecturer in the School of Educational Studies, Massey University)
asks the question, what were some of the effects of the Great War? In
this presentation he aims to answer that question by focusing on a predominantly
rural region of New Zealand, namely Taranaki, with particular reference
to the borough and county of Stratford around the time of the Armistice
in 1918 and in the immediate post-war period.
