Heritage grants still available

Over the past five years, Heritage has made grants to descendants of ex-service men and women amounting in total to about $65,000 per year. These grants are funded by the Godfrey Magnus Trust and the Stanley Banks Will Trust
Most grants are to assist tertiary students at Polytechs or Universities. A few grants are made to mothers of younger children attending secondary or intermediate schools.

At the end of September we send application forms to students who are continuing their courses in the next academic year, and to new applicants, who are required to establish their ex-service relationship by a Certificate of Discharge.

A need for assistance must be established by a budget for the coming year.

Our Council meets late November to consider all applications, after which we notify successful applicants of the grant that will be paid to them in late January.
