Veteran’s PensionThere have been one or two queries concerning those of you who are in receipt of 70% War Disablement Pension and whether you have made a claim for Veteran’s Pension. War Pensions Services and also the Secretary for War Pensions assure me that there has been a full search of all claims to make sure that all eligible persons have been contacted. They also tell me that everyone who receives a new award of a War Disablement Pension that will bring the total amount of pension payable to 70% or over, and who qualifies by eligible service, is being invited to claim the Veteran’s Pension. The Veteran’s Pension does have some benefits for you. Please consider changing to it if you are eligible. There are both service and disability eligibility tests, and you should check your eligibility with War Pensions Services. Benefits:Veteran’s Pension does not reduce if you are hospitalised for a long period of time. A Community Service Card is automatically issued to you and your partner regardless of income. If you are married a lump sum is paid to the surviving partner. |
