Renewing Community Services Cards

Up to 80% of people getting New Zealand superannuation, who hold current Community Services Cards, get their cards automatically renewed. A new card is posted out 8 weeks before the current card expires.

People who receive Veterans Pension are sent cards automatically.

Renewal forms are posted out 8 weeks before the current card is due to expire. This allows the form to be returned, processed, and for a new card to be posted back to you before your current card runs out.

Please let your local Work and Income service centre know if you change address, so that your record can be updated. This means the renewal form will go to the right address.

If your marital situation has changed, for example through bereavement, or if you start a new relationship, a renewal form will be sent to you.

If your (gross) income is within $1,000 of the income limit, you will be sent a renewal form. You may be asked to provide more information about your income.

If you have misplaced your new card, you can get it reissued by calling 0800 999 999.
