Social Activities

A strong sense of belonging

  • RSA members have a ‘home away from home’ at the local RSA and can always be sure of a warm welcome.
  • Many RSAs have licensed clubrooms where members can relax with friends at the bar. Some also have family restaurant facilities where hospitality, and wholesome meals at competitive prices, are guaranteed.
  • For those who love to be busy, the RSA social calendar is always full with plenty of opportunity for involvement in social and community functions and the general welfare work of the RSA.

Rest and Recreation

Most RSAs have for snooker, darts, golf, indoor and/or outdoor bowls facilities and gaming machines. National sporting competitions with supporting social activities are regular features of the Sports Calendar, and members are encouraged to take part. Travel to championships is made more affordable for competitors and supporters alike since many hotels and motels across New Zealand offer special discounted room rates to RSA members.

A nationwide network

Members are welcome at over 120 licensed RSAs throughout New Zealand, meet the locals and enjoy the facilities. Many travel to specially organised reunions from time to time to meet up with long lost comrades through the RSA community.

An international welcome

RSA members are welcome at affiliated Service clubs in Australia, the UK, Canada and many more countries as a result of the RNZRSA’s affiliation to the British Commonwealth Ex-Services League.
