‘Year of the Veteran’ Community Grants Fund

The ‘Year of the Veteran’ Community Grants Fund has been set up to assist local communities to provide ways of recognising the ex-servicemen and women in their community, through community-based projects.

  •  Community Organisations
  •  Ex-service organisations
  •  Cadet Units
  •  Other Organisations such as Schools and Local Museums

Individuals are not eligible for funding.

What kinds of projects are eligible?
The fund is seeking to support projects that promote community participation in the recognition and commemoration of the sacrifice and service of New Zealand 's servicemen and women.

Some examples of projects are:

  •  Projects and events that honour the service given by  servicemen and women

How much is available for each project?
Grants are not intended to pay the total cost of each project. It is expected that organisations and communities will contribute financially to the project and by providing support in-kind.

The maximum available for each project is $5,000. The Minister of Veterans' Affairs does, however, have the discretion to increase the amount of the grant made available.
