Youth Support

RSA plays an important role in supporting the young people of New Zealand.

At both national and local level, RSA is committed to a variety of youth mentoring and education projects.

RSA is a key supporter of:-

New Zealand Cadet Forces

  • The Sea Cadet Corps
  • The New Zealand Cadet Corps
  • The Air Training Corps

The NZ Cadet Forces Forces provide New Zealand youth with opportunities for adventure and challenge in a disciplined environment. At the same time they foster an understanding of the Services and the role they play in the community.

Together the NZ Cadet Forces benefit from annual sponsorship from the RSA movement.

Life Education Trust

RNZRSA has funded the purchase of three mobile classroom units for the Life Education Trust.  

The Life Education Trust aims to provide all school age children with an appreciation of their bodies and how they can be affected by substance abuse. The charity’s mobile classrooms tour schools nationwide using innovative technologies and teaching techniques to equip children to make informed decisions about keeping healthy.

RNZRSA has funded the purchase of three mobile classroom units for the Life Education Trust.

Outward Bound Trust

Outward Bound is New Zealand's leading educational charitable trust specialising in the personal development of young people.

Local RSAs are keen sponsors of local youth to undertake Outward Bound programmes.

Duke of Edinburgh Awards

This scheme aims to extend and develop young people as responsible community members, through a tiered programme of awards. Attaining the awards requires dedication and some financial commitment, particularly to achieve Gold Award status.

Local RSAs readily assist local participants meet the financial costs of undertaking the programme.
