RSA in the CommunityRSA plays a central role in community life throughout New Zealand and gives generous support to all kinds of community projects. Many New Zealanders have at some time been inside a local RSA, dined in an RSA family restaurant, or benefited from RSA support of a community event or national charity. RSA is a primary sponsor of the NZ Cadet Forces, helping to provide positive mentoring for youth, camaraderie, teamwork experience, discipline and fun. RNZRSA has funded the acquisition of three mobile classrooms for the Life Education Trust to teach more than 35,000 school children every year about substance and other abuse. RSA sponsors young people to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Awards and to develop their teamwork skills through Outward Bound Trust schemes. RSA supports varied charitable projects such as the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind, community housing projects for the elderly and meals-on-wheels. RSA benefits communities throughout New Zealand.
Local RSAs provide the venue for wedding receptions, celebrations, funerals, community meetings, functions and social events for the whole community.
