An ANZAC and Coffee at Dawn Service

Those attending ANZAC Day Dawn Services in the four main centres this year will be able to munch on a traditional ANZAC biscuit while enjoying a warm cup of coffee.

At the conclusion of the commemorative services, coffee and ANZAC biscuits will be served free to veterans and public alike through the generosity of Australian biscuit manufacturer UNIBIC and New Zealand coffee roaster CAFFE L’AFFARE — a true ANZAC initiative in support of the RSA and the veteran community.

For some years UNIBIC has made a donation to RNZRSA welfare funds for each pack of ANZAC biscuits sold to the public and CAFFE L’AFFARE is similarly making a donation to RNZRSA welfare funds this year. By purchasing these products you are directly assisting the RNZRSA to continue its veteran welfare work.

One of the much-loved traditions of veterans on ANZAC Day is to have a coffee with a tot of rum to acknowledge the pre-dawn ration given out before an attack to steady the nerves. While ANZAC Biscuits are a tangible link to our ANZAC heritage.

In its 90th anniversary year, the RNZRSA greatly appreciates these wonderful gestures of remembrance for all who gave their lives in battle and welfare assistance for those who returned.
